18 weeks!

Another week just flying by. I turned 18 weeks yesterday! Head to rump, I am now about 5 1/2 inches long and I have gained 2 ounces, weighing me in at a whopping 7 ounces. I've heard that's about the size of a green pepper. :-) I occupy my day by flexing my arms and legs — movements that I'm trying to get mama to start noticing more and more. My blood vessels are visible through my thin skin and my ears are now in position and stand out from my head. Myelin (a protective covering) is beginning to form around my nerves, a process that will continue for a year after I'm born. Interestingly enough, If I'm a girl, my uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If I am a boy, my genitals are now noticeable! 9 days and counting until I reveal the goods! :-) We'll keep you posted!

I'm 17 weeks old today!!

Hi everyone! I'm back to share my latest improvements...I have gained an amazing 1.5 ounces in just the past week. That weighs me in at approximately 5 ounces-about the size of a turnip (what's with these analogies??) I am now a boasting 5 inches long! My bones (which were a rubbery cartilage until now) are starting to harden to bone-an actual skeleton. My sense of hearing is also developing...I actually overheard something really exciting today-mom buying me a bassinet so I can sleep right next to her and daddy when I get home. Not that I'm bragging, but it plays music, rocks, vibrates, has a nightlight, and is complete with anti-tip legs...just incase Maddi and Kaiser get curious! I can't wait to try it out!
Last, but definitely not least.....I have to share that at exactly 1:18pm on Friday May 16th....I think I performed my first back flip...and mommy hasn't stop talking about it since. She felt me move for the very first time....says I felt like a little birdie :-) This is getting fun!

16 weeks today

Well, I am officially 16 weeks old today and growing fast!!! I am now approximately 4 1/2 inches long (head to bottom) and 3 1/2 ounces, I hear people saying I'm about the size of an avocado (whatever that is!!) . In the next three weeks, I'll be going through a tremendous growth spurt, nearly doubling my weight and making mom's belly grow. The doctors say some of my more advanced systems are even working, including my circulatory system and urinary tract. My heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day...amazing for a little squirt, don't you think?? Even though I can't open my eyes yet, they are sensitive to light...(wish mom would stop shining that flashlight at me to try to feel me move..it gets annoying!) Oh, I almost forgot...I'm growing toenails this week too, and all my joints are moving. Well, I'm off to take a snooze-can't wait to meet all of you...24 weeks to go!!! Check out my mom's first pic of her belly...(if she can figure out how to attach it to the blog.) I'm starting to let the world know I'm around! Or atleast her pants don't fit anymore..hehe. Might also be all the ice cream she's eating, but I won't tell her...I like it too ;-)

April 28th: 14 week appointment

April 28th: At exactly 14 weeks, I weighed in at about 1 1/2 ounces and was ~3 1/2 inches long. They say I was about the size of a lemon. Mom and dad saw me move for the first time on ultrasound....they were amazed:-) My tiny fingers were moving and I brought them up to my mouth. I started sucking my thumb this week. Wish the picture was better so you could see my face! Mom saw me and thinks I'm a girl...dad is convinced I'm a boy. It's my secret for now!



If I cooperate, the secret will be out on June 5th.

Are they buying pink or blue Twins/Mariners outfits???
