My First Valentine's Day

A Cookie for Daddy! Snuggling with my monkey
Think I'm spoiled??? Mommy and daddy just say I am REALLY loved!

I even got a special Valentine's bib :-)
And new monkey pajamas!
Here I am working on sitting with just a little support of my Boppy pillow.
I am getting SO strong!

I'm finally big enough to sit in my new toy from Grandma Yudy!

My First Date with Jack :-)

Mommy's friend Heather and my friend Jack came up for a visit, and look at all the fun we had! We started out with a lunch date to none other than THE RAINFOREST CAFE...and wouldn't you know they sat us in the gorilla room....AGAIN:-) Jack and I loved it! After lunch, we hiked over to "BUILD A BEAR" and boy did we have fun. Jack picked out a bunny and helped me pick out a pink monkey.
It was a LONG wait in line getting ready to build our animals.

Finally we were at the front, ready to get started, and I was HAPPY!

Jack helped me out...starting with giving her a squeeze

He picked out a heart and placed it inside

Gave her a kiss

And finally, washed and groomed her to make her pretty!

The finished product took a LONG time and was a little bit scary...she's bigger than me!
(Not to mention I was tired and getting HUNGRY...building a monkey is a lot of work!)

Aaahhhhhhh...The Art of Self Soothing!!

After a long tough week, I stumbled upon this wonderful thing called a thumb. Who knew I could soothe myself and won't have to scream for my binky at 2am???
As you know, the dreaded day finally came when Mommy returned to work and I spent 3 full days at Darla's. This was me just before we left on my first day. Do I look scared??? I was just worried about Mommy...she was nervous and a little sad to leave me!

It looks like I'm waving bye bye here...just trying to stretch really...it's cramped in here!

I had 3 good days at Darla's while mommy worked, but boy was I tired! I just can't figure out how to sleep there yet with all the excitement. Mommy and I snuggled a LOT on Thur and I caught up on my ZZZZZZZZZZs! :-)

After 11 hours of peaceful sleep the first night in my crib, I woke up to bright lights and mommy and daddy whispering "is she still alive???"
I don't get it...first they want you to sleep through the night, then when you do,
they wake you up??? I'm so confused!
Although I've never moved an inch when playing on the floor, I managed to wiggle up and wedge myself in the corner.....shouldn't have done that...after the scare,
mommy and daddy took my crib bumper off :-(
I'm learning how to hold my head up on my tummy to look at myself in the mirror!

My Fuzzy Valentine book from Mimi & Poppy...I love it!

Here's me again looking at myself in the mirror...I love this!

Loving my rainforest crib toy from Gramma Yudy!

Have a great weekend!!! We'll see you soon!

1-27-09 Happy Birthday Auntie Kris!!!

In honor of my Auntie Kris, since it is her BIRTHDAY today...I learned a new trick!
I finally figured out how to bring something up to my mouth...other than my fist!
Mommy had her first night out without me or daddy for her friend Heather's birthday.
Happy Birthday Heather!!
I enjoyed my date at home with daddy...and he let me stay up late :-)
Daddy said I "wouldn't go to sleep"...the truth is we were just having fun together!
Daddy makes me giggle and squeal! How could I sleep?

Does anyone really believe this swaddle thing is working?
And don't even think about saying my legs are "chubby"...don't you know the camera adds 10 pounds? (And that's a lot when I only weigh 13 1/2)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...now I can stretch out and relax here.
(I guarantee the camera is adding a few pounds here too ;-) )

Although it's awfully cozy in here...I'm getting a bit tired of the 20 minute "bundle up" sessions we must endure before we can leave the house. Anyone else ready for above freezing temps???

PRAY FOR AN EARLY SPRING...the dogs and I are going crazy inside!!!!!!!!!!!!

10 days until DAYCARE....EEEEEEEEEEEEK!

How is 2009 treating everyone?

We've had loads of fun already and we're sadly counting down the days before mommy has to go back to work. Although I'm a little nervous, I met my daycare mom Darla and my new friend Kinsley (5 months old) and I will surely have a blast!
Here are some of the highlights to our last couple of weeks...

A very special birthday gift from daddy to mommy. A "Mother and Child" necklace with both of our birthstones! Mommy loves it and hasn't taken it off since she got it! I love it too...it's just so shiny and the perfect size for me to grasp!

My favorite sweater from Aunt Cindy, Uncle Greg, and Cousin Hannah...I can't wait to meet them!

Daddy rocked me to sleep:-) What a treat!
I love him SO much...I'm a lucky girl!

A peaceful 9 hours of sleep in my very own room! It was wonderful. No more tuning out mommy's booklight or the buffalo's endless snoring (no offense daddy!) I did still need the cozyness of my bassinet. That big crib is just too scary yet!

Another wonderful visit with grandma Yudy! We had fun (and wore mommy out) at the Mall of America, The Ugly Mug coffee shop, the Women's Expo, and my very favorite....Red Robin (again!)

Mommy tried to be discreet with her first attempt at breastfeeding in public. (We had no choice..I was STARVING!) Don't you think this big pink blanket gives us away? Not to mention it's a little suffocating!!! The man behind us (trying to enjoy his drink and read the paper) got scared away I think...he disappeared really fast!

Sneaky little Maddi, tried to steal my spot when I took my eye off her for a second!

I LOVE the bumbo seat. Life is much more quiet and peaceful for everyone when I'm looking at it from this angle! I have to admit, I was getting a little tired of staring at the ceiling!

My new "Super Seat"!
This is mommy's (and my) favorite toy!
I need to spend more time up in this! Not only does it prevent me from getting a flat head and bald spot, I can actually see the world, and mommy can make dinner with 2 hands instead of one (she says it's a lot easier that way.) I LOVE it...but what is with this thing staring at me???
Hope everyone is staying warm, happy, and healthy. More soon!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hope everyone had a warm, safe, and fun New Year celebration! We sure did. Mommy, daddy, Kaiser, Maddi and I stayed home and played games, read books, and practiced my rolling.
This is me just before I rolled from front to back for the first time. Although mommy says she "facilitated" (fancy term for helping me I guess) the roll, I like to think I did it on my own. Unfortunately, I have to admit I can't do this without help yet-as hard as I try. I can't wait til I can though, I get awfully cranky on my tummy!
Now this one I CAN admit I did on my own....I rolled from my back to my side.
I was SO proud and was giggling the whole time! I guess it's good mommy keeps that camera handy ALL the time to catch moments like this!

Daddy's giving me a workout...we worked on sit ups!
We have SO much fun together!

My first owie. My legs are getting SO long, it scraped the armrest of my rocking chair :-( I let mommy know what I thought about that. I know she's very sorry!

It felt MUCH better after a kiss and a Curious George band-aid!

I met my Great Auntie Jan for the first time, and boy did we have fun. We took her to the Mall of America to celebrate her 60th birthday. Although I was pretty scared riding in the glass elevator and walking through Camp Snoopy...after a quick catnap to recover, I enjoyed the gorilla room at the Rainforest Cafe. Looked a lot like my bedroom...hehehe.
Here's me and Great Auntie Jan enjoying her birthday!

Next, we celebrated mommy's 34th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY!!!
We went to Red Robin for dinner and I went to my first movie "Marley and Me." I enjoyed every minute! "Nanny Janny" took care of me while mommy and daddy held hands :-)
We had a great time!

I wore my cupcake outfit from Mimi to celebrate Mommy's birthday! It was SO cozy!
Believe it or not, it's a 6 MONTH outfit....mommy and daddy cannot believe it...
I'm only 10 weeks old!

Daddy and I watched the OU national championship game. I wore my OU dress and had my good luck Oklahoma monkey. Guess it wasn't very good luck after all.....
daddy wasn't very happy when they lost!

What better way to celebrate the new year with a new hat and a new binky!

My first pair of jeans...fleece lined!!
Nanny Janny fed me a bottle at Starbucks while her and mommy had coffee and a treat ;-)

That's all I have for now. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hope 2009 brings all of you plenty of joy and HAPPINESS! :-)
We love you all!
